Polymeric surfaces are designed to have a high degree of slip resistance, they are used as athletic track and long jump/triple jump surfaces.

They are also used as surfaces for tennis, football and basketball.

Polymeric areas can be constructed with either porous or impervious surfaces and have a degree of cushioning.

The base structure is open textured for a porous system and dense macadam for an impervious system.

These surfaces require routine maintenance, with regular chemical treatment (ideally twice a year) and power washing once a year.

The surface may also require periodic repairs and re-coating.
