Chemical treatment should be applied to sports surfaces to eliminate the growth of weeds, moss and algae.
Ideally this process is carried out prior to the regular maintenance, this allows the chemicals to penetrate the surface and assist the ease in which detritus is removed.
The chemicals are applied using a backpack, pedestrian sprayer or tractor mounted boom sprayer, depending upon the area to be treated.
All artificial sports surfaces may suffer from weeds, moss and algae. The chemical treatment intervals will vary depending upon the type of surface, its position in terms of trees/shading and player usage.
